PATE SWAP MEET

The Pate Swap Meet was organized in 1972 after meetings in Houston, Arlington and Fort Worth, with representatives of various clubs.  The West Texas Region of the Antique Automobile Club of America was one of the original clubs at these organizational meeting.   At the Fort Worth meeting, Mr. Pate offered the use of his land that was located at the Pate Museum.

The Pate Swap Meet is the fund raising effort of seventeen Texas antique automobile clubs. The first swap meet held by this organization took place on the grounds of the Pate Museum of Transportation in 1973.   This event grew tremendously during the next 26 years that was held on the land surrounding the museum.   However, due to better land usage the Pate Swap Meet had to relocate in 1998.

The Pate Swap Meet has been relocated to the Texas Motor Speedway on I-35 north of Fort Worth.  The swap meet is still growing and at Texas Motor Speedway the event can continue to grow.  Texas Motor Speedway provides paved vendor spaces, a paved car corral and paved parking, with camper parking and easy access to major highways.

The West Texas Region Antique Automobile Club usually is one of the clubs that works the car corral and has a visitor area in the vendor spaces.  When at the Pate Swap Meet, come visit us at our visitor center.
